Feb. 16 - The Howell County Health Department will begin smoking cessation classes at their bulding on S. Kentucky in West Plains. Class size is limited. Call 256-7078 to register.

Feb. 16 - All Saints Episcopal Church is having a pancake supper from 5-7PM at the All Saints Parrish Hall on S. Curry Street. Donations are accepted, MSU students eat for free.
Feb. 17 - A multiple sclerosis group will be meeting at 4:30PM at the Shaw Medical Building of Ozarks Medical Center.
Feb. 18 - The Dora senior class is sponsoring a chili supper and Donkey basketball game, with the chili supper will begin at 5:30PM. Donations welcome. The ball game will begin at 7:00PM. Tickets are $6.00 in advance and $8.00 at the door.
Feb. 18 - People may purchase food from the Angel Food Ministries at the First Church of God in West Plains on weekdays from 8AM-3PM until noon February 18. Feb. 20 - Pomona Christian Church is bringing Upward Soccer to Pomona, with practices beginning Feb. 20. Upward is for kindergarten through 6th grade boys and girls. A new Biblically conservative Lutheran Church group will offer worship services on the odd Sundays of each month. The worship services will be at 6 PM at the OMC Foundation Community Room, located at 403 Washington Ave. For more information call (870) 424-2888.
The Pioneer Saddle Club will have a rodeo every Tuesday evening at 7pm except for Fair Week at the Pioneer Saddle Club Arena, located 1/2 mile up Highway 14 on the left.
The Willow Springs YMCA offers an exercise class for senior adults ages 60 and over. This class is on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, from 8 to 9 p.m. The YMCA is located at 405 West Main Street. The Willow Springs YMCA offers Pilate’s classes on Mondays and Thursdays from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. located at 405 West Main Street.
The Ozark Independent Living will be visiting Eminence the 4th Thursday of each month in the Eminence Senior Citizens Center from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Free informational services are provided for the disabled and elderly such as assistive devices, legislative efforts, peer support, advocacy, TAP, TAP Internet, and information and referrals. Independent In-Home services include basic personal care, nurse visits, advanced personal care, respite, and homemaker chores. There is also Consumer Directed Services for your home. “Branson Bound” with Sunny Aaron will be on the RTO Theatre stage at the Evergreen Center; the former Oregon County Country Music Theater in Thayer starting on April 16th and every Friday at 7 p.m. Admission is $6 for adults and $4 for students. Special guest this week is J.R. Briggs and special guest next week is Cathie Bair. A different special guest will be featured each week.
Vets for Veterans will meet the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays of each month from 7-9 p.m. at the Cabool Church of the Brethren located at 1003 Garst St. in Cabool. This is a safe haven for the vets to meet with a non religious agenda and any vet is welcome. Information will be provided for the vets about benefits they may not know they are eligible for, like P.T.S.D. and other physical and mental problems, and also loans for education. Meetings for The Texas County Memorial Hospital breastfeeding support group are held every fourth Thursday from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. in the education room at the hospital. Susan Johnson, a registered nurse and childbirth educator at TCMH, will facilitate the breastfeeding support group. The group is open to mothers that are currently breastfeeding or expectant mothers who are planning to. Mothers may bring their breastfeeding children to the meeting. The support group is free but those that are attending are asked to sign up with the department.
