Feb. 8 - Colton's Steakhouse in West Plains will be giving a portion of their proceeds February 8 to the West Plains Sluggers to help offset tournament fees.

Feb. 9 - The Red Cross will be having a blood drive at the West Plains Civic Center from 2-6:30PM

Feb. 9 - An arthritis support group will be meeting at 2PM at the Shaw Medical Building of Ozarks Medical Center.

Feb. 11 - OMC's Behavioral Healthcare Clinic will begin their series "Hope and Healing", which assists families with addiction problems, at 6PM at the OMC Parkway Classroom.

Feb. 11 - The West Plains Board of Realtors will be holding a free seminar on avoiding a Real Estate Transfer Tax in Missouri at the Rural Fire Station on K Highway from 7-8PM. For more info call 256-6988.

Feb. 12 - Elmcroft assisted living of Mountain Home will be having an ice cream social from 3-4PM.

Feb. 12-14 - The Ozark Regional Outdoor Sport Show will be held at the West Plains Civic Center.

Feb. 13 - There will be a Trivia Night held at St. John's Church off of Highway 32 in Licking. Doors open at 6PM, with the entry fee of $10 per person. Teams are 8-10 people. Doors open at 6PM, trivia begins at 6:30PM. Contact Mary Stone at 573 674 2553 to reserve a table.

Feb. 13 - Renee Wood's After Hours Big Band Valentine's Dinner Dance will be from 6-9PM at First United Methodist Church in West Plains. Tickets are $5 and are available until Feb. 7. Call Kathy at the church office at 417-256-6167 to reserve your tickets.

Feb. 16 - The Howell County Health Department will begin smoking cessation classes at their bulding on S. Kentucky in West Plains. Class size is limited. Call 256-7078 to register.

Feb. 16 - The American Red Cross office in West Plains will be offering their CPR/AED and First Aid Classes from 8:30AM-3:30PM. The fee for the 3-part course was $45, and $35 for a single course.

Feb. 16 - A prenatal class will be meeting at 6PM at the Parkway Classroom of Ozarks Medical Center.

Feb. 16 - All Saints Episcopal Church is having a pancake supper from 5-7PM at the All Saints Parrish Hall on S. Curry Street. Donations are accepted, MSU students eat for free.

Feb. 17 - A multiple sclerosis group will be meeting at 4:30PM at the Shaw Medical Building of Ozarks Medical Center.

Feb. 18 - The Dora senior class is sponsoring a chili supper and Donkey basketball game, with the chili supper will begin at 5:30PM. Donations welcome. The ball game will begin at 7:00PM. Tickets are $6.00 in advance and $8.00 at the door.

Feb. 18 - People may purchase food from the Angel Food Ministries at the First Church of God in West Plains on weekdays from 8AM-3PM until noon February 18. Food ordered by February 18 must be picked up on Saturday, February 27, between 9:30-10:30AM Call the church at 256-3079 for additional information.

Feb. 19 - Texas County Memorial Hospital and the Diabetic Support Group will be holding a discussion at 2PM on February 19 at Mayuga Cafe.

Feb. 20 - Pomona Christian Church is bringing Upward Soccer to Pomona, with practices beginning Feb. 20. Upward is for kindergarten through 6th grade boys and girls. Feb. 25 - The West Plains Rotary Club will be having an art auction and exhibition at the West Plains Civic Center. The exhibition will start at 6PM, with the auction starting at 7PM.

Mar. 9 - The ASU-Mountain Home campus will be starting the ARVEST Concert Series with Tom Tiratto and His Swingin' Tom Kats doing Frank Sinatra songs from 7-10PM at the Baxter County Fairgrounds. This is a free event.

Mar. 23 - The Lippizaner Stallions will perform in the West Plains Civic Center Arena.

Mar. 27 - A hunter education class will be held at the Senior Citizens Center in Alton from 8AM-7PM. Call 417-778-9931 to reserve a seat. You must be 11 years old or older to participate.

Apr. 24 - Travis' Barber Shop in Thayer will be holding a Locks of Love Drive event from 8AM-6PM. Hair and cash donations will be accepted, with both going to Locks of Love. For more information call Travis at 417-505-9967.

Tuesday

The Howell County Democrat's Club meets on the second Tuesday of each month, rotating its visits among the towns of West Plains, Willow Springs and Mt. View. All Democrats are invited to attend. For more information contact: Secretary, Barry DeBrown At 257-7625.

Wednesday
A "Song Writer's Workshop" will be hosted from 6-7PM Wednesdays at Bogart's Variety Theater in Mammoth Spring. For more information call Bob Ross at 264-7015.

Farmers Market of Cabool will be located on Main Street in the Gazebo from 1-6 p.m on Wednesdays.

The West Plains Farmer's Market is every Wednesday from 11:30am till 4pm on Washington Street in West Plains.

Thursday

The West Plains Farmer's Market is every Saturday from 11:30am till 4pm on Washington Street in West Plains.

Sunday
A new Biblically conservative Lutheran Church group will offer worship services on the odd Sundays of each month. The worship services will be at 6 PM at the OMC Foundation Community Room, located at 403 Washington Ave. For more information call (870) 424-2888.

The Pioneer Saddle Club will have a rodeo every Tuesday evening at 7pm except for Fair Week at the Pioneer Saddle Club Arena, located 1/2 mile up Highway 14 on the left.

The Willow Springs YMCA offers an exercise class for senior adults ages 60 and over. This class is on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, from 8 to 9 p.m. The YMCA is located at 405 West Main Street. The Willow Springs YMCA offers Pilate’s classes on Mondays and Thursdays from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. located at 405 West Main Street.

The Ozark Independent Living will be visiting Eminence the 4th Thursday of each month in the Eminence Senior Citizens Center from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Free informational services are provided for the disabled and elderly such as assistive devices, legislative efforts, peer support, advocacy, TAP, TAP Internet, and information and referrals. Independent In-Home services include basic personal care, nurse visits, advanced personal care, respite, and homemaker chores. There is also Consumer Directed Services for your home. “Branson Bound� with Sunny Aaron will be on the RTO Theatre stage at the Evergreen Center; the former Oregon County Country Music Theater in Thayer starting on April 16th and every Friday at 7 p.m. Admission is $6 for adults and $4 for students. Special guest this week is J.R. Briggs and special guest next week is Cathie Bair. A different special guest will be featured each week.

Vets for Veterans will meet the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays of each month from 7-9 p.m. at the Cabool Church of the Brethren located at 1003 Garst St. in Cabool. This is a safe haven for the vets to meet with a non religious agenda and any vet is welcome. Information will be provided for the vets about benefits they may not know they are eligible for, like P.T.S.D. and other physical and mental problems, and also loans for education. The West Plains Habitat for Humanity Re-Store is open Wednesday, Thursday, and Fridays from eight to five and Saturdays from nine to one. It’s on Porter Wagoner Blvd. in West Plains. They sell used building materials and take donations of the same. Call 417-256-1576.

The Willow Springs YMCA offers Pilate’s classes on Mondays and Thursdays from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. located at 405 West Main Street.

Meetings for The Texas County Memorial Hospital breastfeeding support group are held every fourth Thursday from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. in the education room at the hospital. Susan Johnson, a registered nurse and childbirth educator at TCMH, will facilitate the breastfeeding support group. The group is open to mothers that are currently breastfeeding or expectant mothers who are planning to. Mothers may bring their breastfeeding children to the meeting. The support group is free but those that are attending are asked to sign up with the department.
